Pro-Ject Audio Systems wanted to do justice to the claim to which the company has felt committed since its foundation, namely to make high-quality hi-fi solutions accessible to the widest possible audience.

At first glance, the new Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 looks the same, according to Pro-Ject Audio Systems, but in fact optimizations have been made in quite relevant areas, so that the latest generation differs significantly from the previously available version.
It is noticeable, for example, that the new Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 has more power, no less than two times 150 watts of speaker systems with an impedance of 4 ohms should be available here. where one now relies on a structure in dual-mono configuration.
The Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 should therefore be ideally equipped for almost any speaker system, even with demanding models it is now the right partner and always delivers a sound stage that is not only wide but also deep and offers every detail of the music might.
Three analog inputs are available here in the form of pairs of cinch sockets, and a phono preamp should not be missing, whereby this is not only available to drives equipped with MM cartridges, but also drives with MC pickup systems.
Additional components such as a subwoofer or an additional amplifier for bi-amping or a second zone can be brought into play via a pre-out with a fixed level and another with a variable level, whereby central control is also possible via a 12 V trigger.
There is no integrated D/A converter, the focus here is clearly on a purely analogue solution that offers solid technology for many years to come. Of course, the volume control is also analog here, although a motorized potentiometer is used for optimal ease of use in connection with the infrared remote control included in the scope of delivery.
So even if you rely on purely analog, one thing you haven’t neglected to integrate, namely a Bluetooth module, which now corresponds to Bluetooth 5.0 in the new Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 and thus not only SBC and AAC, but also aptX and aptX HD supported.
It should also be expressly mentioned that the new Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 has a particularly high-quality integrated headphone amplifier, which delivers an impressive output power of twice 450 mW at 32 ohms and can therefore easily operate a large number of different headphone models.
Once once more, all the electronics are packed in a solid aluminum housing, which is available in either silver or black anodization. On request, optional wooden side panels can also be attached, which are available in walnut, rosewood and eucalyptus.
Pro-Ject Audio Systems expressly points out that the new Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 is not only developed in Europe, but is actually also manufactured entirely in Europe.

The new Pro-Ject Stereo Box DS3 should now be available in specialist shops. As already mentioned, you can choose between black and silver. The recommended retail price is listed by the manufacturer as €899.
