Kozhikode: After the documentary that tells the story of the scepter installed in the new Parliament, director Priyadarshan has come up with another topic that can be discussed in national politics. The shooting of a docudrama on the history of the Ram Temple has started for the Ayodhya Ram Temple Trust.

This docudrama covers the events from 1883 to the inauguration of the new Ram temple. The shooting in Ayodhya and Hyderabad has already been completed. History of India, history of the temple, Mughal invasion, history of Babri Masjid, beginning of the dispute, its continuation, karseva, subsequent legal battles and final judgment, the film goes through all the phases of the temple history.

The script of the history of Ram Kshetra has been prepared under the supervision of a team of historians, archaeologists and scholars of mythology and legend.

Prasoon Joshi, poet and lyricist and chairperson of the Central Film Censor Board, Nripendra Mishra, former principal secretary to the Prime Minister and chairman of the trust, and Yatindra Mishra, an eminent author of the Ayodhya dynasty, are providing guidance and direction for the production of the film.

Along with Priyadarshan, there are two other well-known Malayalis behind the docudrama – production designer Sabu Cyril and line producer Seven Arts G.P. Vijayakumar too. The cinematography is by Divakar Mani, a famous cameraman of Tamil cinema.

Filming subjects of national importance like this is proud and full of challenges,” said Priyadarshan. Doordarshan and TV Eighteen are major partners in the production of the docu-drama.
