Privatize the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel for a cocktail, it’s possible

Loc’Hall, a young digital platform, created to bring together exceptional heritage sites and businesses, has just achieved a “big hit”, by including the Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel in its catalog. In partnership with the Center des Monuments Historiques (CMN), it offers company directors, whoever they may be, the possibility of renting the prestigious abbey church for a concert, for example, or even for a seminar, a cocktail party or a dinner, spaces as grandiose as the monks’ refectory or the cloister of Merveille.

“In general, we do not imagine for a second that it is possible to privatize places as mythical as the Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel. And often, the companies which have the means of it do not even think of it, as if these places were absolutely sanctuarized. By integrating them into the catalog, we will be able to communicate and let our potential customers know that it is indeed possible. That they can give their events a whole new dimension by offering them such frameworks. And beyond the bridge that we provide between these prestigious places and companies, it is obviously for us a great opportunity to enhance the heritage in another way”, explains Diane Domas de Crécy, the founder of Loc’Hall.

The challenge is also obviously financial. The young platform sells its connection in the form of subscriptions to institutions wishing to offer their places for privatization. Like the Center des Monuments Historiques (CMN), many of these structures have suffered the full brunt of the health crisis. In this context, the revenues that these privatizations can potentially provide are more than welcome. For example, to privatize the Abbaye du Mont for an evening, you have to count around 10,000 euros…
