Private inflation estimates pierce the 7% floor, marking a second consecutive monthly slowdown. This is good news for a government that is in an electoral key.

In this context, we communicate with Santiago Manoukianeconomist and head of research at Ecolatinawho spoke regarding the inflationary estimates for the month of June.

Estimates close to 7%

“Our measurement is around 7%, it gave us 7.2% in June. This considers a moderation from the second half of May to here, in line with the rest of the consultants”, explained Manoukian.

“We have already gone through five consecutive months of acceleration. The moderation was considered by lower increases in regulated products and an increase by below average food and drink”, added.

Likewise, the economist said that it is positive that there is a moderation in the prices of food products since they were those of higher growth in the first months of this year.

Finally, Manoukian said that hehe price of beef helps the Government a lot since it is “ironed”. “The drought has a lot to do with it and it is possible that farm prices might be rewarded,” she concluded.
