Together towards the clinic of the future. Investments in modern medicine and maximum comfort for patients. The new building will unite both clinics under one roof from 2028.

We want to develop the private clinics Confraternität and Goldenes Kreuz well into the future, not only medically but also in terms of their structural structure. During our planning today, we will lay the foundation for the implementation of tomorrow’s innovations. Our aim is to maintain and further develop the level of our medical services, the quality of our care and our atmosphere – for which we regularly receive the highest recognition from patients and doctors – and thus to become health partners for our patients for all phases of life be. Last but not least, this creates a long-term, attractive working environment for everyone working in the clinic

Vienna (OTS) A joint new building for the Goldenes Kreuz and Confraternität private clinics is planned on the site of today’s Confraternität private clinic. The two successful private clinics, which are now only a few hundred meters apart, are to be brought together under one roof at the Skodagasse location to form a new, sustainably built clinic. With investments of around 180 million euros, the new building will create a location for top medicine and one of the most modern private clinics in Austria by mid-2028.

Broad range of services and sustainability in focus

With the new building, the existing focal points of the Confraternity and the Golden Cross will be combined under one roof. This creates a clinic in a central location with good connections to public transport that combines the highest medical and nursing standards with an ambience that in turn contributes to recovery. In the new building, patients will find a personal, service-oriented environment with a high proportion of single rooms on around 30,000 m². The plan is to have 120 beds in four wards and 80 percent of single rooms. The new building also includes six operating rooms, two endoscopy rooms, four delivery rooms and a modern ordination and day clinic center.

The new building will encompass the entire spectrum of the two clinics, including a center for women’s health and obstetrics, a focus on men’s health and a wide range of surgical services. This is supplemented by the most modern diagnostics (radiology including MR and CT, laboratory, etc.) as well as comprehensive day clinic services. An affiliated ordination center bundles the range of outpatient treatments. The growing possibilities of telemedicine are also taken into account in the planning.

When constructing the new building, particular emphasis will be placed on sustainable construction and environmentally friendly operation. This clinic building should also be certified according to klimaaktiv Gold. Among other things, heat should be provided via geothermal energy and a photovoltaic system should be installed on the roof of the building. A garden provides greenery and creates an oasis of relaxation.

Transition phase

Medical operations should also be maintained during the planning and construction phase. To this end, the Goldenes Kreuz private clinic will be adapted on an interim basis by mid-2026 and additional capacity will be created, such as additional operating rooms and surgery areas. During the construction phase at the Skodagasse location (according to planning mid-2026 to mid-2028), both clinics will provide joint medical services in the interim adapted and expanded building of the Goldenes Kreuz private clinic on Lazarettgasse.
