Thrissur ∙ Private bus strike in the district dragging passengers. The additional services provided by KSRTC to solve the travel woes helped at least a little. The Kozhikode route, where more private buses are plying from Thrissur, has experienced more congestion. Kodungallur, Iringalakuda, Kunnamkulam and Varantharapilly routes where there are more private buses were congested during office hours. Due to congestion on long distance routes, many people depended on trains. Thrissur depot officials informed that 28 services have been conducted to all the routes in the district. Services were arranged from 7 depots in the district.
From Chalakudy depot to Iringalakuda, Kutchira and Medical College area and from Iringalakuda depot to Chalakudy, two to Kodungallur and three additional services were run. There was also an additional service from Kodungallur unit to the medical college. Additional services were provided to Chotanikara, Kakanad and Ernakulam jetty sections including three on the Iringalakuda-Thrissur route. There were additional services from Mala, Pudukkad and Guruvayur depots. An additional service was also operated from Guruvayur to Ernakulam Jetty.
