Books-Mustafa Hamza:

What is the truth regarding the exclusion of the artist, Menna Shalaby, from starring in the play “Hour of Fortune”, because she is prohibited from traveling, due to the case of her arrest at Cairo International Airport, returning from abroad, and in possession of substances suspected of being drugs.

The director of the play, the artist Ashraf Zaki, in a special statement to “Masrawy”, commented on what was reported, and said: “First, it was clear that the artist, Menna Shalaby, was not excluded from the play, but rather the show (Hour of Fortune) was postponed, due to its association with filming a series in Beirut.”

He added, “What was reported regarding the actress Ghada Adel’s nomination to present the play, instead of the artist, Menna Shalaby, is completely false, as the first one participates in another theatrical show within the activities of the Riyadh season.”

Zaki commented on what was being said regarding the artist, Menna Shalaby, being banned from traveling, and said: “This is also not true. There is absolutely no travel ban, as evidenced by her travel to Beirut to film a series.”

The play “Hour of Fortune”, starring Menna Shalaby, Sherif Salama, Muhammad Shaheen, Muhammad Radwan and Sama Ibrahim, was written and directed by Ashraf Zaki.

And the Public Prosecution had ordered the release of the actress, Menna Shalaby, following her interrogation, following she was arrested at Cairo International Airport, returning from abroad, in possession of materials suspected of being drugs, and a report of investigations had been received regarding the incident, if she paid a financial guarantee of fifty thousand pounds, and sent the seized materials in her possession to the medical department.
