Suffering from “fractures” after their incredible escape, they presented themselves to the emergency room of a hospital in the Charleroi region, a spokesperson for the Carolo prosecutor’s office told AFP.
“The emergency services alerted the police and as they (the escapees) were the subject of an international report (…) they were deprived of their liberty and placed under police surveillance in the hospital“, added the spokesperson, Sandrine Vairon.
Once treated, they will be transferred to a juvenile detention center in Belgium, she stressed.

These two foreign minors are suspected, one of murder, the other of rape, according to a source close to the case in France.

From now on, a Belgian judge, seized of the European arrest warrant issued in Lille by the French justice system, will have to notify the two suspects of this procedure with a view to their surrender to France.
An investigation was opened on Monday on the charge of “organized gang escape”, according to the Lille prosecutor’s office, which specified that the two minors faced “10 years of imprisonment and a fine of 150,000 euros”.
If they contest their transfer to France before the Belgian courts, the procedure could last several weeks, or even several months.
