In an increasingly demanding and dynamic professional environment, prioritizing the work well-being and mental health of employees becomes a fundamental issue. In this context, at L’Oréal Groupe we stand out for our corporate policies, and particularly, for the balance between the well-being and professional career of our collaborators. Do you want to know how we achieved it? Read on to learn how we create a healthy and nurturing work environment.

What is mental health?

It is an essential component in people’s lives, since it affects the emotional, psychological and social state. It is the basis of our ability to maintain healthy relationships, whether in our personal or work lives, and to face challenges in a healthy and conciliatory way. Taking care of mental health is a fundamental pillar to be able to progress and move forward.

For all these reasons, at L’Oréal Groupe we recognize the importance of taking care of the emotional well-being of all our collaborators. In line with our vision of adapting to new social needs, we have implemented various initiatives to promote and protect mental health.

Why is it important to take care of the mental health of our employees?

With advances in organizational psychology and the growing number of alarming statistics (according to the WHO, anxiety affects around 15% of the world’s population), it is increasingly noted that mental well-being is not only essential for the individual, but also at the society level. An employee with positive emotional well-being shows their work and creative abilities at their maximum potential and, in addition, is more likely to contribute a greater increase in productivity and innovation. Likewise, a work environment that fosters inclusion and respect will not only reduce absenteeism and employee turnover rates, but will also boost the development, experience and specialization of team members. This represents a significant advantage for the long-term sustainable success of any company.

As a global leader in the beauty and personal care industry, at L’Oréal Groupe we have a responsibility to be an example of respect, care and support for people in all our actions and practices. This involves providing a fair and respectful work environment, promoting diversity not only in recruitment processes but also in our products and services, and committing to ethics and sustainability, which is why we maintain complete transparency in all our operations. .

Our mental health and workplace wellness programs

Share & Care

Our program Share & Care It has a 360 social approach determined by four key pillars (Protection, Health, Balance and Workplace) and its fundamental objective is to address the physical, financial, family and emotional health of our employees. Recognizing that well-being is not limited to physical health, the program promotes different actions that promote a “Personal Ecology” where employees can optimize their well-being and thrive within the group.

Additionally, when considering new ways of working, such as teleworking and flexible schedules, Share & Care seeks to provide a more flexible work environment adapted to individual needs, which contributes to work-life balance and emotional health.

In Cancer Awareness Month, known as Pink OctoberLa Roche-Posay presented this year Cancer Support, a pioneering and innovative digital platform. Its main purpose is to improve the quality of life of patients during and after treatment, optimizing adherence to it and their chances of recovery. For every training session carried out on the platform, La Roche-Posay has donated €1 to the International Union Against Cancer (UICC).

Psychological Safety

At L’Oréal Groupe we have also developed the Psychological Safety program, which offers workshops to our collaborators to introduce them to the concept of psychological safety. In addition, we share tools there that allow us to foster a participatory work environment and reduce the level of stress in our teams.

Since its inception this year, more of 600 employees They have participated in these sessions and have rated the training with an average of 4.4 out of 5 in terms of satisfaction.
