Princess Mary ‘humiliated’ by UK government at Elizabeth II funeral

An unwelcome quack. The Danish royal family was represented by Queen Margrethe II and Crown Prince Frederik at the funeral of Elizabeth II on Monday September 19. Princess Mary was an absent subscriber. Back to an imbroglio that turned the kingdom of Denmark upside down.

“Awkward and Embarrassing”. It is in these terms that the country’s press described the incident of which the 50-year-old Australian was the victim. The latter had received an invitation to attend the ceremony at Westminster Abbey before it was withdrawn. The local newspaper BT ensures that the Danish royal family was offended by the incomprehensible situation. The Foreign Office was forced to make amends. “The Ministry has offered its most sincere apologies to the Danish Royal Family via the Danish Embassy”said a spokesman for the Palace.
