Princess Madeleine: Is she traveling to King Carl Gustaf now?

After the Swedish court announced that King Carl Gustaf would have to undergo heart surgery, Princess Madeleine might travel home to help her father.

Concern for King Carl Gustaf, 76, is great: How surprising is the Swedish court on its official website announces that the monarch will have to undergo heart surgery on Monday, February 20. Fear for her father apparently also prompted Princess Madeleine, 40, to travel home.

King Carl Gustaf is facing heart surgery

The procedure is said to be a “planned surgical procedure” and the king’s upcoming appointments would be postponed during the recommended rest period between February 20th and March 3rd. Nevertheless, it seems important to Carl Gustaf’s youngest daughter to support her father during this time. As the Swedish “Svensk Damtidnings” claims to have learned, Madeleine will travel from Florida to her native Sweden. “Now everyone is gathering in Drottningholm to support the king in this serious situation,” explains the newspaper’s editor-in-chief, Johan Lindwall.

Princess Madeleine is set to travel to Sweden

Certainly not an easy decision for Princess Madeleine: On February 20th, the day of the operation, her eldest daughter Princess Leonore celebrates her ninth birthday. Princess Madeleine lives with her family, husband Chris O’Neill, 48, and three children Princess Leonore, 8, Prince Nicolas, 7, and Princess Adrienne, 4, in Florida, United States. Her older sister, Crown Princess Victoria, 45, is currently in Australia. She will be attending appointments in New Zealand on Saturday, February 18th. So King Carl Gustaf’s operation seems to take place shortly following the return of the heir to the throne.
