Princess Kate: Confusion about dates fuels rumor mills

On Wednesday night, the army removed a notice that the future queen would take part in rehearsals for the king’s birthday parade (“Trooping the Color”) on June 8th. It was the first time since Kate had abdominal surgery that an official date had been announced for the wife of heir to the throne Prince William.

The British media reacted to the publication with corresponding excitement. The 42-year-old is currently recovering from the procedure, which was carried out in mid-January. According to the palace, she will not attend any appointments until following Easter.

Notice has been removed

On Tuesday evening, the website where onlookers can book tickets for the event stated Kate’s official title: “Reviewed by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales.” The notice was missing on Wednesday morning.

British media reported that the army had not coordinated the date with Kensington Palace, which actually announces the dates of Kate (42) and William (41). The Royals’ participation would normally only be confirmed much closer to the date. The PA news agency, citing its own information, reported that the details of the event were made public because of Kate’s honorary title of Colonel in the Irish Guards. The regiment is the focus of the traditional parade this year.

On the same page, the Army had also mentioned that King Charles III. (75) will take part in the official parade on June 15th. This notice was also deleted overnight. Kate’s father-in-law is currently being treated for an unspecified cancer.
