The princess, eldest child of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, has been heir to the Belgian throne since her father’s ascension on July 21, 2013.
At the end of September, Princess Elisabeth completed her second year of training at the Royal Military School. For the occasion, she took an oath before her father, swearing loyalty to the king.
Since October 2021, she has been following a three-year course in “History and Politics” at Lincoln College, University of Oxford, in England.
During a trip to Egypt organized last March with her mother, Queen Mathilde, the Duchess of Brabant expressed her admiration for her great-great-grandmother, Queen Elisabeth (1876-1965) during her very first interview given at the end of his visit to Egypt.
