Princess Beatrice surprised the world this week with adorable news: she is having another child. Royal fans and their family are delighted, but one close relative in particular may have had a load lifted from their hearts.

There are offspring coming to the royal home: Princess Beatrice, 36, is becoming a mother again. “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year: a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna,” said an official statement from Buckingham Palace on October 1st. A wonderful message that, after a difficult year, will finally bring a little joy back to the faces of the Windsors – and will especially please Prince Andrew, 64 – not just because he will be a grandfather again.

Princess Beatrice gives Andrew a break with baby news

The royal family had to contend with severe blows of fate this year: the cancer of King Charles, 75, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, is still causing great concern within the Royal Family. Kate has now been able to give the all-clear: her preventative chemotherapy has been completed, but she will continue to receive close medical support. There has not yet been a similarly hopeful signal from the monarch. We still have to be afraid.

But Prince Andrew’s past has also caught up with the Windsors in recent months. He is and remains the problem offspring of the late Queen Elizabeth, †96, and continues to make headlines. It’s not just his dispute with brother Charles over the Royal Lodge that is a hot topic in Great Britain. The Regent had asked the Duke of York to move out of the large estate in order to save costs. In the meantime, both have apparently agreed on a compromise: Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson can continue to live there for the time being.

But the palace is more concerned with the media’s processing of Andrew’s disastrous BBC interview in 2019, in which he wanted to comment on his relationship with the then-deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, † 66 – and talked about his head and neck. The hour-long conversation was examined in two TV series this year. Another horror scenario for the royal.

“Difficult time for Beatrice and Eugenie”

Now his eldest daughter is once again in joyful anticipation. A message that is ideal for distracting from unpleasant topics. Beatrice is no longer said to have a very close relationship with her father. According to the Mirror, rumor has it that the royal is now avoiding her father’s house.

BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond shows understanding for the alleged withdrawal in an interview with “OK”: “I can imagine that this whole matter was extremely difficult for Beatrice and Eugenie, especially for Beatrice because she was involved in the recording of the interview was.” The older York sister was allegedly present at a preliminary meeting with TV executives and took notes.

Beatrice removes her navel

Despite all the alleged distance, Bond can imagine that Andrew’s daughter’s heart is bleeding at the latest headlines about her father. “Beatrice seems to me to be a very compassionate young woman and I’m sure she cares deeply about both her father and mother throughout this whole drama, especially given the renewed interest due to the recent documentary.”

The journalist is convinced that the speculation about an estrangement between Beatrice and Andrew is out of thin air. However, she assumes that the 36-year-old is completing a final umbilical cord removal process. “However, there comes a time when you have to look after your own young family first and I suspect Beatrice has now reached that point. I think the Yorks are an incredibly close family and support each other in all aspects of life. I very much doubt Beatrice is avoiding the Royal Lodge, but like any new mother she has a lot going on in her own life and in her own home at the moment.”
