Prince William, heir to the British throne, will resume his official activities this week, following stopping for weeks due to the operation that his wife underwent, according to what royal circles announced on Monday, while Princess Kate continues her recovery period.

On Wednesday, William will preside over an official inauguration ceremony at Windsor Palace, and then in the evening he will attend a charity party in London in aid of the London Air Ambulance Service, according to what Kensington Palace announced in a statement reported by the British PA agency.

Princess Kate (42 years old) was admitted to the hospital on January 16 to undergo abdominal surgery. Kensington Palace announced, a week ago, that she had been discharged from the private London Clinic Hospital, where she underwent the operation, and is spending a period of recovery at the family home in Windsor, west of London.

The reasons for her surgery are still mysterious, but it is not related to any cancer, according to British media.

The palace announced that Princess Kate will likely suspend her activities until Easter on March 31. William, the eldest son of King Charles III, also suspended his public commitments in order to give priority to his family.

The couple is very popular in the United Kingdom, and they have three children, George, Charlotte and Louis.

King Charles III is also recovering following prostate surgery. The forced withdrawal of Charles, Kate and William placed the king’s wife, Camilla, 76, at the forefront of the family, with her making a series of weekly moves.
