Britain’s Prince William has announced that he will honor the memory of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, by working to support his father, King Charles III, in every possible way.
Prince William, now heir to the throne, said: “My grandmother famously said that sadness is the price we pay for love… All the sadness we will feel in the coming weeks will be a testament to the love we have for our wonderful Queen.”
And he added in a statement: “The Queen was by my side in the happiest moments of my life, and she was by my side during the saddest days of my life.”
He continued, “I knew this day would come, but it would be some time before I felt the truth of life without my grandmother.”
