Prince William and Kate Middleton meet Tom Cruise at the premiere of Top Gun Sequel

Beirut – Salwa Yassin – Follow up with impartiality: Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are preparing to re-appear on the red carpet alongside star Tom Cruise, as the royal couple will join the actor at the UK premiere of Top Gun: Maverick on May 19 in Leicester Square in London.

The event will likely see Kate, 40, in full glory — as she shone in gold at the James Bond premiere last September.

The London premiere won’t be the first time William and Kate have seen the highly anticipated movie. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were reportedly treated to a private screening of the Top Gun sequel at the invitation of Cruise, who had heard that William was a fan of the 1986 original film.

William, who was an RAF helicopter pilot, following he walks Kate on the red carpet next Thursday, will be introduced to Cruise and other cast members such as Miles Teller, who plays the son of Cruise’s late companion Gus, from the original movie.

Paramount Pictures and The Film and TV Charity will host the premiere, the 72nd royal screening of the charity’s royal films in its nearly 100-year history, with the charity supporting hundreds of thousands of people working behind the scenes in the film and television industry in Britain has been called upon, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic when many skilled technicians and craftsmen lost their livelihoods.

Cruz is no stranger to the British royal family. He previously met the late Prince Philip in 2017 at the 75th Anniversary Dinner for the Outward Bound Trust at Buckingham Palace. He mingled with the late Princess Diana alongside his ex-wife and actress Nicole Kidman in 1992 at Leicester Square Empire Cinemas during the premiere of the romantic drama Far and Away. Cruz also attended Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997 alongside Kidman.
