Prince William and Kate Middleton: Here’s the word their children’s nanny can’t use

Keeping children is never easy, and even less so when they come from the British royal family. It is not the nanny of the children of the couple formed by Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge who will say the opposite. The nanny is strictly forbidden to use the word: “kids”. We explain why.

Who is the royal nanny?

Since the birth of little Prince George, the couple’s first child, the nanny has always remained the same. Her name ? Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo. She studied at the prestigious Norland College of Bath, a school which claims to offer the best training for working in the field of early childhood.

Kids, the forbidden word in training

According to author Louise Heren, who spent a year at Norland College to do research for the production of a documentary, students learn during their studies never to pronounce the word “kids”, c i.e. “kids” or “kids”. Children must be called either by their first name or by the name “children”, translated as “les enfants”. The reason ? Using the term “children” is a “show of respect for children as individuals.”
