The Saudi News Agency, SPA, reported that Prince Mohammed bin Salman received a phone call from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.
According to SPA, “during the call, the recent military escalation in the region and the seriousness of its repercussions on security and stability were discussed. The importance of making the necessary efforts to prevent the situation from worsening and spare the region from the risks of escalation was emphasized.”
Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman announced on Sunday evening that he discussed with his American counterpart, Lloyd Austin, developments in the military escalation in the region and efforts to contain it.
On Sunday morning, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deep concern over the developments in the military escalation in the Middle East and the seriousness of its repercussions, calling on the parties to exercise restraint.
