Prince Harry on Monday (12/9) delivered an emotional tribute speech to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Harry calls it his “guiding compass”, and vows to “honor” his father in his new role as king.
Reported by the news agency AFPMonday (12/9/2022), in his first public statement since Queen Elizabeth passed away last week at the age of 96, Harry said he was “forever grateful” to his grandmother and said she was “missed greatly”.
Harry, a former British Army captain who served in Afghanistan, said To Elizabeth is his supreme commander but also his “grandmother”.

Harry said he will cherish memories of the first time his grandmother met Meghan and hugged the couple’s two children, Archie, aged three, and Lilibet, one.
“I cherish those moments with you, and the many other special moments in between. You have been greatly missed, not only by us, but by the whole world,” he added.
“We now honor my father in his new role as King Charles III. Thank you for your commitment to service. Thank you for your kind advice,” added Harry.
“Thank you for your infectious smile. We also smile knowing that you and grandfather (Prince Philip) are reunited now, and are both together in peace,” said Harry.
Harry and his wife Meghan shocked the monarchy by announcing that they were quitting royal duties and moving to the United States in early 2020.
Harry, who is expected to stay in England for the funeral To Elizabeth on Monday, it is believed the last time he saw her in person was during the public celebrations for the queen’s Platinum Jubilee last June.
