Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were heartbroken over the death of Lisa Marie Presley.
The couple spent a lot of time with the Presley family while the Oscar-winning actor filmed Elvis and paid a touching tribute to the 54-year-old singer following she passed away on Thursday from cardiac arrest.
Rita said in a statement shared on her Instagram account: “Our hearts are broken by the sudden and shocking passing of Lisa Marie Presley tonight. Tom and I had spent time with the family during the promotional tour for the film ‘Elvis’ .
“Lisa Marie was so honest and direct, vulnerable, in a state of anticipation regarding the film. She spoke so eloquently regarding her father, what the film meant to her, that it was regarding a celebration of his father.
“She was accompanied by her beautiful daughters, Finley and Harper, who made us all laugh. She privately showed us her home, Graceland, and she made us feel right at home. She was so gracious to us, Austin, Baz and the guests.
“If you haven’t heard her music, go listen to her. She had a sulfurous voice, a power and a tenderness that I have always loved.
John Travolta also paid a heartfelt tribute to the late star.
He tweeted: “Lisa baby girl I’m so sorry.
“I will miss you but I know I will see you once more. My love and heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley.”
