CULTURE – South Park aims straight, and always hurts a lot. In the second episode of its 26th season, broadcast on Wednesday February 15 on Comedy Central, the famous American animated series attacked Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle in a very irreverent way.

Entitled The Worldwide Privacy Tourthe episode happily pokes fun at the desire for privacy of the Duke of Sussex and his wife, who have become Prince and Princess of Canada (one of the favorite scapegoats of the authors of the series) during a visit to the village of South Park, Colorado.

In the episode, the ultra-media couple are widely mocked for shunning the royal family and the media, while starring in Prince Harry’s autobiography, The Alternate (here renamed Wow) or in a hit Netflix series.

As you can see in the tweet belowa passage from the episode notably shows the couple arriving on a television set brandishing signs “We want privacy” et “Stop staring at us”.

Meghan Markle is then presented as a “instagram loving bitch” and the prince as a man who “hate journalists” but can’t help making the media rounds.

An ever so acerbic look at the news

In the episode’s trailer, Kyle, one of the star characters of South Park confides his weariness: “I’m tired of hearing regarding them. I can’t get rid of it. They are everywhere ! » And his friend Stan to answer him: “We don’t give a damn regarding this stupid prince and his stupid wife. »

South Park has always been known for its acerbic take on news and media personalities. We remember in particular his repeated mockery of the former President of the United States Donald Trump, or of Kim Kardashian who had been transformed into a Hobbit in reference to the work of JRR Tolkien.

Even more recently, the series seized on the sad subject of the war in Ukraine and the nuclear threat to poke fun at Russian President Vladimir Putin, made more aging and aggressive than ever because his “dick no longer works like before”.
