Prince Harry and his wife Meghan were chased by their car as paparazzi followed them following a charity event in New York, the couple’s office announced Wednesday.
The two, along with Megan’s mother, were subjected to a dangerous chase for more than two hours by 6 vehicles.
Their office said in the statement that the chase lasted more than two hours, and the cars nearly collided more than once, describing the accident as “almost catastrophic.”
“While a public figure’s fame comes from the level of public interest, it should never come at the expense of one’s safety,” the statement added.
Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, died in a car crash in 1997 while being hounded by paparazzi in Paris.
