The Duke and Duchess of York, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, will take care of Queen Elizabeth II’s two corgis, as confirmed by a spokesman for Andrés quoted by the British press. These dogs became, along with their hats and bowling, one of the most recognizable signs of identity of the late queen.
Andrés, third of the four children that Isabel II had, and Sarah Ferguson will thus assume the care of Muick y Sandy. The first was given by Andrew himself to his mother in early 2021 during the queen’s confinement at Windsor Castle and Sandy was the gift for his 95th birthday from Andrew and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
Elizabeth II had more than 30 Welsh Corgi-type dogs throughout her reign. a breed to which the monarch had a special devotion and during the confinement due to the coronavirus they kept her a lot of company, as revealed by her dresser, Angela Kelly.
Most of the queen’s corgis were descendants of Susan, her first corgi, which she received as a present for her 18th birthday in 1944. During the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, 70 corgis were brought together in Balmonar to take part in a race.
