It is clear that the three leaders of Jumbo run as three independent republics and in that dynamic, Primoz Roglic not only once once more uncovered the weakness of Sepp Kuss, but he did not expect it. The Slovenian explained why.
“It wasn’t a tactical climb, it was so steep that I might only go at my own pace because the climb itself would tell who would be the best,” explained ‘Rogla’, who was aware of the moment his teammate lost contact. “I knew when Kuss stayed, but I had to go at my own pace.”
In fact, there is a video on social media in which both of them talk regarding the situation. Among what can be heard, Kuss confessed that what happened was strange, to which Primoz insisted that he might not wait because he needed to go at his own tempo, although Sepp took it well and in more words, said that If he stayed he would manage it himself.
“I talked to him, because it was a strange moment and a strange feeling, but on these ramps it’s like that, everyone goes as fast as possible,” he argued.
Is Kuss still the team leader? “Of course,” Roglic replied. “In fact, I told him to keep fighting because he is going to achieve it,” he added to alleviate the tensions that are perceived behind closed doors.
