According to VNA special envoy, on the evening of February 10 (local time), right following starting an official visit to Brunei Darussalam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife had a meeting with officials and staff of agencies representatives and Vietnamese community in Brunei.
Vietnamese Ambassador In Brunei, Tran Van Khoa said that Vietnam-Brunei relations over the past time have continued to be maintained and promoted.
Cousin Vietnamese community Although working, working and laboring in Brunei is not large, but the relatives unite, organize and participate in many meaningful activities, making positive contributions to the relationship between the two countries. At the meeting, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Brunei expressed their joy and pride at the country’s development over the years, especially Vietnam’s overcoming of the COVID-19 pandemic, recovery, social economic development; Vietnam’s position and prestige is increasing in the international arena.
People wish that the State organize more activities to connect the Vietnamese community in Brunei and with the country; organization to promote Vietnamese culture in Brunei, especially teaching Vietnamese in the host country.
Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was touched by the warm affection that people have for the delegation; expressing the sacred feelings, flesh and blood of the people of Vietnam.
The Prime Minister was pleased to know that the Vietnamese community in Brunei is small but strong, with diverse and rich activities in many fields including studying, teaching, working, doing business…
The Prime Minister pointed out: “The community is strong because of solidarity, unity, and mutual help. The Embassy well performed the role of bonding, taking care of and helping people; well implementing the policy that the Party and State have determined, the overseas Vietnamese community is an integral part of the great unity bloc of the whole Vietnamese nation.”
Informing people regarding the country’s socio-economic development situation and Vietnam-Brunei relations, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that our country has never had the opportunity, potential, position and international prestige like today; Vietnam-Brunei comprehensive partnership is developing well.
On this visit, the Prime Minister will ask Brunei to create better conditions for the Vietnamese community in the host country to work, live, study and work, especially providing legal support to Ms. child.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that people continue to comply well with local laws; preserving national cultural identity and traditions; solidarity, unification, and more meaningful activities are really a bridge in the relationship between the two countries.
