Prime Minister Modi takes over the presidency of the next G20 summit for India; Will Kochi be the venue?

He had already clarified that ‘Data for Development’ would be one of the main themes of the India-chaired consortium. India will hold the G-20 presidency for one year from December 1.

Discussions are already underway as to where the G-20 summit will be held when it arrives in India. In Kerala, places like Kochi, Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh and Gujarat were considered.

There was information that Kochi was being considered for the ministerial meeting of the summit. A team of central officials had also reached Kochi to evaluate the venue and related facilities. Meanwhile, Pakistan has come forward with opposition to Jammu and Kashmir being the venue of the G-20 summit. Sources in Pakistan’s foreign ministry informed that the G-20 member states will be protested once morest the summit.

The world is also looking forward to the diplomatic talks with China, where there is a border dispute, because the Prime Minister said this following assuming the post of President.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Narendra Modi met face-to-face at a dinner in Bali. Footage of the two shaking hands and having a conversation was also released. But it is also noteworthy that although Modi held talks with the leaders of many countries, he did not engage in diplomatic talks with the Chinese President.
