This is the first day of the Prime Minister’s program to inspect key national projects and works from North to South in the early days of the New Year.

Shorten the distance between Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho and the North
Tuyen Quang-Phu Tho expressway project connecting with Noi Bai-Lao Cai highway has a length of 40.2km, of which the section passing through Tuyen Quang province is 11.63km long and passing through Phu Tho province is 28.57km.
After the adjustment of investment policy, the route is currently invested with capital from the central and local budgets.
The project is divided into 2 phases: Phase 1 will be implemented in 2020-2023 with a complete scale of 4 lanes with a maximum speed of 80km/h; Phase 2, the project will be invested in expanding the width of the road surface, implemented after 2025.

When put into use, the project will meet the increasing demand for transportation, reduce congestion and traffic accidents on National Highway 2; shorten the connection time and distance between Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho provinces with the Northern key economic region and Hanoi capital; improve the exploitation efficiency of the Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway.
Construction and installation packages under the project have been implemented since the beginning of August 2021, with the motto of both construction and site clearance.
Currently, the site clearance has reached 99%; volume of road excavation and embankment reached 92.68%; under construction of crushed stone grade 1 grade 1 is 15/40.2km; completed 29/44 underground tunnels for people’s living.
Construction progress meets with the scope of the handover site reaching 58.48% of the contract value, basically meeting and exceeding the contract schedule, with a construction time of 24 months, expected to be completed in September 2023 .
Solving problems and inadequacies on the spot
Inspecting the entire expressway under construction, the Prime Minister pointed out a number of issues to focus on handling, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the construction of the expressway must have a long-term vision, in which high The speed should not be limited to only 4 lanes, even some sections have only 2 lanes, the maximum speed is 80km/h as at present.

Regarding the issue of materials for road construction, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with localities in inspecting the provision of material mines for road construction, in accordance with regulations approved by the Government. the Government decided in two resolutions related to this issue, both to ensure the initiative in the source of materials and to combat the cost of construction; in the spirit of minimizing intermediaries, avoiding price spikes, reducing time and procedures, harmonizing interests between the State, people and businesses.
People are willing to relocate to give land for the project
Visiting and wishing New Year to officials and employees who are constructing projects, the Prime Minister proposed contractors to organize construction in 3 shifts and 4 teams; ensuring progress, quality, technique, ensuring labor safety, fighting waste, and costing the work; especially against negativity and corruption during project implementation.
The Prime Minister also asked for expressway projects in general to avoid the situation of “splitting” of bidding packages, having too many construction units on one route, taking a long time to complete procedures, difficult to control progress. level and quality, it is easy to generate negativity.
