Former Prime Minister Han Deok-soo is said to be the most likely to be the first prime minister. Former Prime Minister Han was born in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, and served as Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy under the Roh Moo-hyun administration. He also served as ambassador to the United States in the Lee Myung-bak administration and president of the Korea International Trade Association.

Lim Jong-ryong, former chairman of the Financial Services Commission, is mentioned as the deputy prime minister for economy. Former Chairman Lim was from Boseong, Jeollanam-do, and served as the head of the Economic Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the first vice minister, the head of the Prime Minister’s Office, and the chairman of the Financial Services Commission.

The official explained, “In the process of narrowing down the size of the media and politics, the intersection was ‘Han Deok-soo – Im Jong-ryong’, and I met with former Chairman Lim once and made a proposal directly.”

He added, “We have to wait for the verification results, but in the case of economic teams such as the Deputy Prime Minister of Economy, the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, and the Governor of the Bank of Korea, it would be good to form a team and look in the same direction.”
