‘Prime Minister forbade taking more loans from friendly countries’

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said on Tuesday that “currently there are 12 billion dollars in Pakistan’s deposit which has been received from three friendly countries, however The Prime Minister has clearly said that he will not ask for any kind of loan from friendly countries.

The first meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs was held in Parliament under the chairmanship of Senator Irfanul Haque Siddiqui, in which issues related to Pakistan’s foreign affairs were discussed.

In committee Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar while giving a briefing on Pakistan’s diplomatic relations said that ‘Our effort is on direct investment and export. Our priority is now focused on these things.

‘There is only one way now and that is the way of exports.’

Regarding the relations with the neighboring countries, the foreign minister said that ‘Pakistan cannot change its neighbours, so it is better to improve the relations with the neighbours. Pakistan is trying to have positive relations with Afghanistan.

He said that two incidents have harmed Pakistan. Chinese engineers were attacked. Only Chinese citizens were targeted. Why were only Chinese citizens targeted? Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is involved in both the incidents, our demand is to expel TTP from Afghanistan.

The foreign minister said that the CPEC project is not being tolerated by the enemies.

‘I will visit Kabul soon’

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that he would soon visit Kabul in view of the increasing incidents of cross-border terrorism.

He said in this regard that ‘I will go to Afghanistan following a few days. Afghanistan is our brother country.

Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist incidents over the past two years, for which Pakistan blames cross-border movement of terrorists.

‘Pakistan is not alone diplomatically’

In the meeting of the committee, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that matters are improving for Pakistan at the diplomatic level.

Aafia Siddiqui’s efforts to return home continue

In response to Senator Irfanullah’s question, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that earlier attempts were made to bring Aafia Siddiqui back to Pakistan.
