Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar met the President of Kenya, sought cooperation in the investigation of the Arshad Sharif case

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has urged the President of Kenya to facilitate the completion of the JIT report on the murder of renowned journalist Arshad Sharif. The Caretaker Prime Minister met Kenyan President Dr. William Ruto on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum and discussed the promotion of cooperation in various fields.

The Caretaker Prime Minister attended the dinner hosted by the Chinese President in Beijing, in which Anwarul Haq Kakar held informal talks with world leaders including the President of Kenya.

In a meeting with the President of Kenya, the Prime Minister requested to facilitate the completion of the joint investigation team’s report on the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif.

The Caretaker Prime Minister met Kenyan President Dr. William Ruto on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum and discussed the promotion of cooperation in various fields.

The two leaders also agreed to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, education and people-to-people contacts while Dr. William Ruto expressed his desire to benefit from Pakistan’s experience in agriculture and health sector.

The Prime Minister invited the President of Kenya to visit Pakistan soon while the President of Kenya invited the Prime Minister to visit Kenya which was accepted by both the leaders. Caretaker Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti was also present on this occasion.

Prime Minister’s engagements in China

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar, who visited China, had a busy day. The Caretaker Prime Minister presided over a round table meeting held on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, in which Chinese scholars, researchers from educational institutions and think tanks participated.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of CPEC’s key role in Pakistan-China long-standing friendship and strategic partnership and said that Pakistan-China friendship is based on mutual cooperation and respect.

Anwarul Haq Kakar said that China and Pakistan have agreed to transform CPEC into a corridor of prosperity, employment, connectivity and green development.

The participants of the meeting agreed that with the efforts of the two countries, CPEC will not only gain a central position in regional trade and relations, but it will also promote people-to-people relations between the two countries.

The Prime Minister arrived at the hall and was warmly welcomed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Pang Li-yuan.

The dinner was attended by Russia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mongolia, Hungary, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Papua New Guinea, Mozambique, Chile and other world leaders.
