The Prime Minister, Alexandre De Croo, presented his general policy declaration this Tuesday afternoon, at 2:15 p.m., in the Chamber. In front of the deputies, he outlined the policy that the federal government will pursue in 2024, in its final stretch before the legislative elections next June.

This weekend and Monday, the Vivaldi coalition concluded its budgetary discussions. Among the measures most commented on today are the taxation of banks and the extension of the flexi-jobs regime.

During his presentation, the Prime Minister also took stock of the work accomplished by his government. “Our policy made it possible to protect the wallets of Belgians. Our policy made it possible to avoid social bloodshed“, declared Alexander De Croo, summarizing the decisions that Vivaldi took in the context of the Covid crisis and the energy crisis.

Before presenting his general policy statement, the Prime Minister offered his condolences “to the families of the victims of what happened in Israel“. About the events, “all this shows unacceptable barbarity“, said Alexander De Croo. “This extreme violence, blind and cowardly, suddenly closes the way to any prospect of peace and security in the region.“, he added, believing that “violence will never be the solution“.
