On March 1, Romana Palmanshofer took over the management of the department for acute geriatrics and remobilization at the Rohrbach Clinic. Romana Palmanshofer (48) was born in Yspertal in Lower Austria and first completed training in anesthesia and intensive care before studying medicine in Vienna. She is a specialist in internal medicine, intensive care medicine and an emergency doctor and has additional training in the fields of geriatrics, palliative medicine, ethics and acupuncture. After her training and work at the Ybbs Therapy Center (Psychiatric Clinic) and SMZ-Süd in Vienna, Palmanshofer taught at the Rohrbach School of Health and Nursing from 2015. Since 2017 she has worked as a senior physician in the department of internal medicine at the Rohrbach Clinic.
Tenschert remains director
The new primaria lives with her partner and four children (aged 3 to 20) in Rohrbach. She enjoys short breaks from everyday life with a good book – such as contemporary novels or detective stories –, with activities in nature or with a visit to Vienna. She also enjoys baking with her children. In the function as primaria, Palmanshofer will succeed primar Wolfgang Tenschert, who will remain in the hospital and concentrate on his extensive tasks as medical director in the future.
Qualified successor
“I am pleased that with the personnel decision we have made for the Rohrbach Clinic, we have been able to engage a person with a wide range of professional qualifications and who is personable. I wish Romana Palmanshofer and her team in Rohrbach all the best for their future work in our company,” says Franz Harnoncourt, Chairman of the management board of the Upper Austrian health holding company.
