Tell Me Why stars Tyler and Alyson Ronan, two brother and sister twins, who have a telepathic bond and who meet for the first time 10 years following the death of their mother. Protagonist Tyler is also trans.
The bond between the two characters is the game’s central mechanic that allows players to revisit their memories. The player’s choices positively or negatively influence the relationship between the twins and will shape the adventure. The game also prompts the player to ask interesting questions, showing the twins’ different perspectives on memories of their past.
Don’t Nod Entertainment’s game received multiple Gayming Award nominations and won awards for Authentic Representation and Best LGBTQ Character. It was also awarded at the Game Awards in 2020 for the most impactful game.
Support trans communities
In parallel with the free offer of the game, Xbox Publishing has also decided to get involved in the community.
Due to an increased rise in anti-trans sentiment in the United States in recent years, the publisher decided to support and increase visibility and opportunities for trans people and communities. Thereby, he offered a donation of US$25,000 each to Transgender Law Center and Trans Lifeline, providing resources and crisis support to trans, non-binary, and queer people in the United States.
Tell Me Why will be offered for free throughout the month of June on Steam, Microsoft Store and on Xbox consoles.
