Prices will rise tomorrow: How to keep the bill down

This is stated by N1 in a press release.

They own and operate the electricity network in more than half of the municipalities in North Jutland, namely: Aalborg, Brønderslev, Jammerbugt, Mariagerfjord, Rebild and Vesthimmerland municipalities.

The winter tariff means that there is now even more reason to use electricity wisely. Especially for those electricity consumers who have got an electric car in the carport or heat pump and have thus increased their electricity consumption considerably.

Cars

It happens on Tuesday. Be careful if you have an electric car

There is money to be saved if they can use electricity to a greater extent when the electricity grid is least loaded, it says:

– Our electricity consumption naturally increases when it gets darker and colder and we move indoors, and this significantly increases the load on the electricity grid, especially in the period from 5-9pm. The tariffs must motivate electricity consumers to use electricity wisely – and fortunately, the good news is that it can easily be done without sitting in the dark at home, says Lise Bering, who is the managing director of N1.

The network tariffs are the price consumers pay to have the electricity transported to the socket.

Tariffs make a difference

From 1 October, the grid tariff will be 124 øre per kWh during the peak period. At the same time, it is also often here that the pure electricity price is the highest. Therefore, it makes good sense to move as much of the consumption as possible to the low-load period from midnight to 6 o’clock, when the grid tariff is 14 øre per kWh, writes N1.

The figures for electricity consumption in January and February this year show that electricity consumers in N1’s supply area are increasingly using electricity wisely. In the first two months of the year, just under 21 percent of electricity consumption was in the low-load period, compared with around 18 percent two years earlier.

– We can see that the tariffs make a difference. Several have gotten used to starting the dishes or charging the electric car at night. It gives both a lower bill here and now, and also makes it cheaper for consumers in the long run, because we can reduce the need to expand the electricity grid, which is ultimately financed by them themselves, says Lise Bering.
