The lull will not last. Since Christmas, fuel prices have been on the rise again, reports Var-Matin.

Motorists’ budgets are tightening. After a more favorable end of autumn, fuel prices are on the rise again in France. According to Var-Matin, which relies on data from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, on December 31, the average price of SP95-E10 was 1.6099 euros per liter, or 2.5 euro cents more per liter. liter than a week before. Despite this increase, the price remains below its highest level reached on November 17th. It was then 1.6358 euro per liter.

Diesel is not spared. After a nice drop, its price fell from 1.5253 euros per liter at the beginning of December to 1.5367 euros per liter on average on Friday 31 December. That is an increase of 0.0114 centime in one month. However bad it may be, this new increase in fuel prices is not necessarily a surprise. Last October, Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, Finance and Recovery explained on BFM TV that he did not see any improvement before the end of next year “at best” in terms of inflation. on the price of diesel, but also natural gas and electricity.

Inflation allowance

A context that led to the decision to pay inflation compensation of 100 euros to employees, self-employed persons, retirees, beneficiaries of the RSA or the allowance for disabled adults who earn less than 2,000 euros net per month. A measure also intended to improve the daily life of scholarship students, recalls the service-public.fr site. Previously, the beneficiaries of the energy check had received a lump sum of 100 euros.
