After the market closes, the dollar index (DXY) registered a fall of 0.55%, settling at 103,520 units, according to Investing.com, one of the most important finance portals. Friday’s drop came following it was revealed that industrial production in the United States was unchanged in February. This was below the expectations that economists had for the market, forecasting a 0.2% increase, following having grown 0.3% in January.
The US dollar also lost positions following riskier currencies rose as concerns regarding a global banking crisis subsided.
The foreign exchange market experienced a rebound following the relief caused following several large US banks injected 30,000 million dollars in deposits in the First Republic Bank, thus supporting the regional bank that had been trapped following the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank.
