Including food and energy, headline PCE increased 0.3% monthly and 5% annually. This slowdown suggests that the Federal Reserve may be close to ending its most aggressive cycle of interest rate hikes in decades.

This month, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) raised the target range for the federal funds rate by 25 basis points, raising it to 4.75 to 5 percent. Meanwhile, and although there have been no new banking turbulences, the market remains cautious and awaits new increases from the Fed.

The DXY measures the value of the dollar relative to a basket of six of the major currencies: the euro, the Swiss franc, the Japanese yen, the Canadian dollar, the British pound, and the Swedish krona.
