Price of consultations: increase of 1.50 euro

A difficult negotiation between CNAM and general practitioners on the price of consultations

The subject was at the center of demands of the strike of general practitioners since December 2022, the price of consultations will finally increase. While it was at 25 euros with a request from professionals for an increase of up to 50 euros, health insurance responds to the request with a proposal for an increase of… 1.50 euros.

The unions see it as a provocation and are relaunching a movement of mobilization and massive demonstrations for all the medical professionals concerned. The call to strike is launched for Tuesday, February 14, 2023, with the organization of a demonstration in front of the Séant. The “dialogue goes wrong”. The discontent starts once more for the doctors who waited until then for the outcome of the negotiations. These must lead to a result applied to the next five years. Hence the major challenge for general practitioners to enforce their requests.

Resumption of the doctors’ strike, call for a general demonstration

Thomas Fatôme, Director of Health Insurance, received on Thursday February 2, 2023 eight unions of liberal doctors as part of the establishment of dialogue following the issues raised by the strikes. Agnès Giannotti, president of MG France, the first union of general practitioners, denounces a “declaration of war”. 1.50 granted for 30 euros requested, the request of the collective “Doctors for tomorrow” is not heard at all.

The National Health Insurance Fund (Cnam) still offers options. Some consultations may exceed this price of 26.50 euros. On condition, however, that the doctors undertake to follow more patients or to participate in call duty on weekends and in the evening. The institution does not offer the possibility for teleconsultations to exceed the 25 euro mark.

Make your consultation appointments before February 14, 2023, who knows how long the mobilization may still last or how much you may have to pay for your medical visit following this date.
