price index up 0.7% in March

This increase is the result of the 0.9% rise in prices for “Food industries”, 1.3% for “Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products”, 8.8% for “Woodworking and manufacture of wooden and cork articles”, 2.6% of “Manufacture of beverages”, 2.4% of “Manufacture of textiles”, 1.2% of “Manufacture of metal products, excluding machinery and equipment” and 4.8% in “Manufacturing of furniture”, indicates the HCP in its recent note relating to the industrial, energy and mining producer price index (IPPIEM).

It is also explained by the 0.3% drop in prices recorded in “Metallurgy” and 0.1% in the “Leather and footwear industry”, continues the note. On the other hand, the producer price index of the “Extractive industries” sector increased by 0.1% during the month of March 2022, notes the HCP.

In addition, the producer price indices for the “Electricity production and distribution” and “Water production and distribution” sectors stagnated during the month of March 2022.
