Price increases in housing, in the consumer price indices and in the construction input index – July 2024

Consumer price indices – July 2024

The consumer price index increased by 0.6% in July 2024, compared to June 2024 and reached an index level of 107.8 points (base: 2022 average = 100 points). The consumer price index excluding housing and the consumer price index excluding energy also increased by 0.6% and reached the index level of 107.1 and 107.6 points respectively. The consumer price index excluding vegetables and fruits rose by 0.5% and reached the index level of 107.6 points.

Notable price increases were recorded in the sections: vegetables and fruits which increased by 3.2%, culture and entertainment which increased by 1.8%, housing and apartment maintenance which increased by 0.8%, each and food and transportation which increased by 0.5%, each.

Notable price decreases were recorded in the sections: clothing and footwear which decreased by 2.4% and furniture and home equipment which decreased by 0.6%.

Since the beginning of the year, the consumer price index, the consumer price index excluding vegetables and fruits and the consumer price index excluding housing have increased by 2.7%, each and the consumer price index without energy has increased by 2.5%.

In the last twelve months (July 2024 vs. July 2023) the consumer price index and the consumer price index without housing increased by 3.2%, each. The consumer price index without vegetables and fruits increased by 3.0% and the consumer price index without energy increased by 2.9%.

The consumer price index is subject to seasonality and trend

In July 2024, the seasonally adjusted consumer price index and the seasonally adjusted consumer price index without housing increased by 0.4%, each and the consumer price index without vegetables and fruits and without seasonally adjusted housing increased by 0.3%.

According to the trend data, for the period between April 2024 – July 2024, the annual rate of increase of the consumer price index reached 3.4%, the annual rate of increase of the consumer price index without housing reached 3.2% and the annual rate of increase of the consumer price index excluding vegetables and fruits and without housing reached 2.6%.

Producer price index – July 2024

The price index of industrial output for local targets decreased by 0.1% in July 2024 compared to June 2024 and reached a level of 122.9 points compared to 123.0 points in the previous month (base: 2020 average=100.0).

The index without fuels decreased by 0.6% in July 2024 compared to June 2024 and reached a level of 115.9 points compared to 116.6 points in the previous month (base: 2020 average=100.0).

In the last 12 months (July 2024 vs. July 2023), the industrial output price index for local destinations increased by 1.8%, and the index without fuels increased by 0.7%.

This month, fuel prices increased by 4.1%. In the last 12 months (July 2024 vs. July 2023), fuel prices increased by 11.0%.

The price index for mining and quarrying for local destinations decreased by 0.8% in July 2024 compared to June 2024 and reached a level of 108.8 points compared to 109.7 points in the previous month (base: 2020 average=100.0). In the last 12 months (July 2024 vs. July 2023) the index decreased by 2.2%.

Input price index – July 2024

A 0.4% increase in the index of input prices in residential construction July 2024.

A 0.7% increase in the input price index in construction for commerce and offices July 2024.

A 0.6% increase in the index of input prices in paving and bridging July 2024.

A 1.0% increase in the agricultural input price index July 2024.

A 1.0% increase in the bus input price index for the entire population July 2024.

A 1.0% increase in the input price index for buses on fixed routes July 2024.

A 0.9% increase in the input price index for minibuses July 2024

Change in apartment market prices – July 2024

1. Apartment price index including new and second-hand apartments (price change excluding quality):

From the comparison of the prices of the transactions carried out in the months of May 2024 – June 2024, compared to the prices of the transactions carried out in the months of April 2024 – May 2024, it was found that the prices of the apartments increased by 0.7%[1].
