According to the indictment, the rapes and violence were committed in a period of almost one year and ten months between 1 May 2022 and 26 February 2024.
In the 25 counts of the indictment, rapes are described, where the victim was threatened and forced to have sex, even though she clearly resisted.
In addition, several cases of violence, in which the defendant allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat, blocked her airways and beat her with a clenched hand, are described in the indictment.
The defendant is also said to have threatened the victim verbally by saying, among other things, that he wanted to kill the woman and “let it affect the victim’s family”.
When the 39-year-old goes to court on Friday, it is not his first encounter with the Danish legal system.
In 2018, he was found guilty of an attempted murder committed against his then girlfriend.
The attempted murder took place in the girlfriend’s apartment in Nørresundby, where the man smashed a bottle over her head, stabbed her in the buttocks with a sharp object, before finally pouring a flammable liquid over her body and igniting it.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison for the attempted murder.
The indictment also states that the fact that the man has previously been convicted of physical assault should be an aggravating circumstance when the sentence is to be meted out.
The 39-year-old man is also accused of being in possession of 0.2 grams of amphetamine and an ampoule with the growth hormone Norditroping Nordilet. Both parts were for personal use.
A total of six court days have been set aside for the case. Judgment is expected on November 1.
