The 19th stop of the 2022 regular season is Atlanta Motor Speedway. It is the first track this year that will be visited by the teams and drivers for the second time.

It is 117th edition since 1960 on the 1.54 mile quad oval west of Hampton. From the 2011 to 2020 season there was only one event in the US state of Georgia. Since the penultimate season, the NASCAR circus has been a guest in spring and summer.

The spring race covers a distance of 500.5 miles and is divided into three stages of 105, 105 and a final 115 laps. The summer race is 400.4 miles and is divided into 60, 100 and a final 100 laps.

After conversion work for the 2022 season, the track was given new asphalt again after 1997. At the same time, there is a steeper banked curve from 24 to 28 degrees. The track width was also completely reduced from 16.80 to 12.20 meters.
