Acuña, Coah.- Local doctors seek to promote the culture of early care, through the dissemination of cervical cancer cases in women from Acuña, urging them to attend the respective check-ups.
“The purpose is to reduce the cases of cervical cancer in the community by means of check-ups to the population, since if they are detected in time, they give the facility to give an adequate treatment”, mentioned María Elena Santoyo Contreras, Colposcopist Physician.
He stressed that the numbers of people attending check-ups have decreased due to various issues, such as lack of money, cold fronts or the impact of the pandemic, receiving approximately 50 patients.
He pointed out that the important thing is that people continue to communicate to make an appointment and start or follow up to take care of themselves in time.
He added that they were complicated seasons, since the disease monopolized the attention of Covid only and that before this, people were neglected in terms of care.
