(Coughing has a sound caused by difficulty breathing) so it is also called Whooping Cough, which is the origin of the name whooping cough in Thai. in infants or young children You may not experience a cough. But there will be problems with breathing mainly. Whooping cough is a contagious disease from person to person. By germs can Spread by coughing or sneezing. Infants and young children are at greatest risk of complications, which can be life-threatening.

The prevention of whooping cough is a disease that can be prevented by vaccination to build immunity. Doctors will administer diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough vaccines to children under 7 years of age. The first 3 injections will be given when children are 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, and the 4th dose when children are 18 months old. After that, they should receive a booster vaccine (Booster Dose). To stimulate immunity after the first 4 injections have been completed at the age of 4-6 years and children over 7 years of age and adults who have been fully vaccinated. It’s recommended that a booster vaccine be given every 10 years because vaccines received during childhood wear off during adolescence. And for those who are pregnant, doctors will recommend vaccination between the 27th and 36th weeks of pregnancy. which may help protect the baby from whooping cough during the first 2-3 months after birth as well
