In order to prevent the dangers of tiger mosquitoes, an insect native to Southeast Asia, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) has scheduled visits for Wednesday July 12 in Angers. This initiative comes within the framework of its campaign to identify places where tiger mosquitoes lay and settlepresent in Maine-et-Loire for several years.

Public places and private gardens

Visits will be carried out on Wednesday July 12 in the La Fayette-Eblé district, in Angers, by the company Inovalys. She will pay particular attention to gardens, terraces and balconies, where they are likely to find containers that may contain stagnant water.

It is in this type of habitat that tiger mosquito larvae multiply and can develop rapidly. With the high summer heat, tiger mosquitoes can grow in less than a week. In order not to be infested by these insects, whose bite can transmit Dengue fever, the city of Angers calls on its inhabitants who have water collectors to close them hermetically or to cover them with a mosquito net.
