Al-Marsad Newspaper: Health experts have revealed an important diet in preventing a very dangerous “deadly cancer”, namely bowel cancer.
Dr Dave Nicholls, GP at the British National Health Service, mentioned 4 steps we can all take to reduce the risk of bowel cancer:
– 3 liters of water per day
Nicholls said: “The best way to improve gut health is to drink at least two to three liters of water a day, exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet that contains a range of foods fresh and whole from primarily plant sources, such as fruits, vegetables and beans. » And whole grains.
– Increase the consumption of fermented foods
“There is some evidence that probiotics may benefit gut health, and the best sources are fermented foods like yogurt, green olives, soft cheese and sourdough,” Nicholls explained.
– Eat lots of fiber
Nichols recommends eating 30 grams of fiber per day, from whole-grain bread, brown rice, fruits, vegetables, beans and oats.
– Avoid ultra-processed foods
You should limit your intake of ultra-processed foods, such as chips, breakfast cereals, sausages and mass-produced bread.
Nichols said these measures not only help reduce the risk of bowel cancer, but also help maintain overall gut health, reducing problems with constipation, diarrhea, bloating and gas.
