2023-08-27 13:06:09

This is a first for the Brand’s CPTS. This association, which brings together 200 health professionals (doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, nurses, etc.) working in Wasquehal, Croix and Villeneuve-d’Ascq, became known during the Covid crisis by managing vaccination centers. Its action is now continuing in the field of the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

Myocardial infarction (heart attack), cerebrovascular accident (CVA), heart failure… These pathologies “ are the cause of nearly 150,000 deaths per year, noted CPAM on its website. Be 400 deaths a day on average. ” Cardiovascular diseases are overall the second leading cause of death in France, but the leading cause of death among women and people over 65. »

Hauts-de-France very impacted

Hauts-de-France is one of the regions most affected by cardiovascular diseases; there are two to three times more new cases there than in the rest of France according to the Pasteur Institute of Lille. The premature cardiovascular mortality rate (people under 65) is also 40% higher than the national average.

Cardiovascular diseases indeed affect populations that are unaware of each other, in particular women under 35 years of age. Tobacco, physical inactivity, stress, contraception… the cocktail is explosive. ” This is why you have to act upstream and get tested to avoid getting sick. “, says Charles Charani, general practitioner at Croix and president of the CPTS de la Marque.

Twenty-two questions in five minutes

A free screening is organized by the CPTS this Saturday, September 2 in the Carrefour Wasquehal shopping mall. ” We will install four boxes with two caregivers each, explains the doctor. There will be no auscultation, only a questionnaire composed of 22 questions issued by the French Federation of Cardiology. This will take five minutes maximum. People will know whether their risk of developing cardiovascular disease is low, intermediate or high. Depending on the result, they will be given advice and referred to a treating doctor. »

It is also possible to test yourself directly at home from the questionnaire from the French Federation of Cardiology available online. By entering your blood pressure and cholesterol level, you can even know your risk of dying from a myocardial infarction or stroke within ten years.

For the record, the risk factors for cardiovascular disease are smoking, cholesterol, physical inactivity, hypertension, family history, stress, alcohol, obesity and age.

Free screening this Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Carrefour Wasquehal shopping mall.
