In confusing events in the town of Bosa, in the south of Bogotá, two police officers were murdered. Apparently, and according to preliminary information, the uniformed officers came to answer a call from the community and were greeted with gunshots.
The man who was accused of committing this crime ended up murdered in the middle of a vehicle theft. “They are the hps that killed the partner”, is heard in an audio that he knew WEEK in which a policeman narrates what happened. In the episode they recovered the motorcycle that would have been stolen.
“The one who was killed was found to have his partner’s gun,” he said.
Mayor Claudia López confirmed the fact. “Commander @PoliciaBogota He informs me that in a chase from Soacha to Bosa, the criminal who allegedly murdered our two policemen last Sunday was killed. The criminal already had an arrest warrant and they intercepted him when he had stolen another motorcycle and was fleeing, ”he wrote on his Twitter account.
The president added that “they seized two weapons, one with which he allegedly murdered our police officers and another from one of them. There are two captured and the investigation continues. To the companions and relatives of our two heroes, our hug. We will continue working until everything is cleared up.”
Last Monday, the Bogotá Mayor’s Office paid homage to the uniformed officers, accompanying their families at a vigil. “We say goodbye to these heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty,” said the capital’s president.
In the same way, he assured that they are working “with all the capacities of the Metropolitan Police, with the Secretary of Security, to find those responsible for this heinous crime. Murder two public servants doing their duty, answering the call of a citizen who saw a motorcycle that had been stolen.”
“He calls us and puts the alert, and asks to answer the call. And that without a doubt is the work that our police officers do”said Lopez Hernandez.
It is worth remembering that National Police sources assured WEEK that the uniformed officers arrived at a materials warehouse and there they met the criminals who were apparently following them. It is at that moment that the exchange of shots occurs that unfortunately left as victims the two uniformed men received bullet wounds that suddenly ended their lives.
“We need the exploration of the Sijín with the Bogotá Police, so that the units of the Metropolitan come to attend to this issue and in coordination with the first person in charge, coordinate with the judicial police the acts of verification, while the Prosecutor’s Office also arrives to carry out the investigation ”, is heard in an audio obtained by WEEK where the death of the two uniformed men is confirmed.
The victims were identified as the patrolman Gustavo Bohórquez who was barely a year in the institution and the subintendent José Alirio Sánchezthe two made up a patrol that carried out surveillance work in the area where they confronted the armed criminals.
Through the same communication that he met WEEK, The commanders in the Cundinamarca Police Department were notified of the death of the two policemen, one of whom reached reach a hospital, but the severity of the injuries did not allow the doctors to save his life.
