The drop in petroleum products in part of the capital of the DRC is widely commented on by the newspapers published this Friday.
Addressing the subject, The Daily indicates that the prices of petroleum products at the pump have just experienced a drop in the West zone. From 3,440 to 2,990 Congolese francs for gasoline, the liter of diesel has also just been revised downwards, by 13%. It went from 3,435 to 2,979 Congolese francs.
For his part, Prosperity indicates that the Congolese government justified this price revision by the need to preserve the balance of the petroleum product supply system and to reduce the budgetary cost of the oil subsidy.
Still in the same register, The Journal revealed that the Minister of the National Economy has already started to reimburse the shortfalls borne by the operators of
the sector, while ensuring that this financial effort does not excessively burden the public treasury.
Africanews finally revealed that never in its recent history had the country experienced such deflation in the price of fuel at the pump. A feat, he says, to the credit of the Suminwa government which also promises to closely monitor the evolution of oil prices on the world market.
